Jill Johanson wins Best Costume Design at FICIMAD 2026 in Spain for Dark Arcadia

We are so thrilled to share that Jill Johanson has been named as the winner of the Best Costume Design Award in the TV & Web Series category at the 2026 Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Madrid (FICIMAD) in Spain for her work on Dark Arcadia!

FICIMAD gave high praise to Jill in their program for this year’s festival when writing about Dark Arcadia: “… featuring costume design by the talented Jill Johanson that boasts unsurpassed artistic quality, leaving you speechless.” We couldn’t agree more!

Jill is an Australian Film Institute Awards (now the AACTAS) nominee for Best Costume Design for her work on the feature film “Tom White”, starring Colin Friels, Dan Spielman and Bill Hunter, and has been the Costume Designer for a plethora of commercial Australian film & TV projects over the years including “Girl at the Window”, “Underbelly Files: Chopper”, “It’s A Date”, “Winners & Losers”, “The Kings of Mykonos”, “The Jammed”, “Yolngu Boy”, “City Homicide” and the much-loved Aussie kids TV series “Round the Twist”. She also designs for theatre, including being Costume Designer for Melbourne Theatre Company’s productions of “Glengary Glen Ross” and “Disgraced”, among others, as well as a wide-range of Aussie commercials for numerous national and international brands.
