The incredible event that was Shorts Relief: Flicks For the Fires has now finished. We had a fantastic turn out for the event and we thank everyone who bought tickets, donated additional money, spread the word and supported the event on the day. All the proceeds have been split evenly between Wildlife Victoria and the Victorian Bushfire Appeal – going towards helping those on the long road to recovery around our State.
With a state of emergency now officially declared due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are so grateful to all those who managed to come out to the Capitol Theatre in Melbourne at a time when festivals and events were beginning to cancel across the country. We thought about doing the same, but instead put in what health measures we could to mitigate any risk. And we are very happy to report that no Covid-19 cases resulted from Shorts Relief. But, as one of the last major events held in Melbourne before stay at home directives were issued, we are at least grateful at this new difficult time, to have been able to help those still recovering from another natural disaster.
We thank everyone who contributed to such a special day. Here is the official thank you video from Event Producer, Sally McLean. We wish everyone health and happiness in the coming months. Stay safe.
